Stache Party

Last weekend, the Mozambiquan Ultimate Frisbee players came to visit us in Swaziland. It is always fun when our two teams get together. We played frisbee for 3-4 hours on Saturday morning and then again for 2-3 hours on Sunday morning. In between, we ate and drank (no surprise, as Ultimate folks tend to like to party). On Saturday evening, we had a ‘Moustache’ themed party in honor of an ex-PAC doctor. While the boys did not disappoint in growing facial hair and shaving a few truly disturbing mustaches, the girls sported ‘big hair.’ In addition to the ‘Best ‘Stache and Big Hair’ contest, there was also a game of ‘Pin the Moustache on the Zebra.’ The zebra painting hangs in the Baylor Clinic and is very infamous. Many of the PAC doctors have been trying to get it taken down for years due to the morbid portrayal of a dying zebra; therefore, there was a lot of interest in defacing it, even if it wasn’t permanent.

I think Doug looks like he should be a Nascar fan with his goatee. And apparently, even though it was overcast and literally raining, all day, I still got sunburned...

Antz (Swazi) won the ‘Best Stache’ competition with this one

Jara (Clinton Foundation) won the ‘Best Big Hair’ competition with her ‘mullet’ of blonde hair and afro. She won in the ‘fake hair’ category

Jenny (Economist, Ministry of Health) won the ‘Best Big Hair’ competition in the ‘natural hair’ category

Shari (Volunteer, Baylor Teen Club) went for both big hair and a mustache

Matt and Farrell (PAC Doctor & girlfriend)

Shaun (Fulbright) was a close runner-up in the ‘Best Stache’ contest

Joe (Fulbright) had a really creepy, curly mustache

Joe and Steph (British High Commission & girlfriend - Moz) stayed with us for the weekend

Miranda and Stephen (Dutch Foreign Service & husband - Moz) and Elaine (Volunteer) made up the ‘headband’ crew

Tini (Economist, Ministry of Finance), Janene (South African, Hospitality Consultant), and Jessi (Director, PSI) rocked the ‘natural’ big hair

Tal (Swazi) sporting a ‘devilish’ stache

Stephanie and Michelle (PAC Doctors) – Which afro is real and which one is a wig?

And last, but not least, the dying zebra (you might agree…it’s not really appropriate for display in a children’s clinic)
